This course provides students with the communication and retailing skills necessary to work in the Hairdressing Industry. The practical skills development includes shampooing, rinsing and neutralising permanent wave and relaxation services, as well as removing semi permanent and permanent colour from the hair. The course has a strong emphasis on client service and product knowledge. This enables students to advise clients on the appropriate products and services for their individual needs.

Certificate III in Hairdressing – WRH30100 – 40 weeks

This course is designed for those who wish to work as a hairdresser in the hairdressing industry, but who do not wish to undertake a 3-year apprenticeship. This program consists of a combination of theory and practical experience in a salon environment. The Certificate III in Hairdressing provides you with all the skills necessary to work as a hairdresser, from the basics such as how to maintain a clean, safe and efficient workplace through to cutting colouring and perming hair. By the time your course is complete, you will be qualified to treat, cut, colour and style hair, coordinate a team for your salon and sell various products and services.

In addition to technical methodology and procedures, this program focuses on leadership, personnel management, and problem solving skills.

The Certificate IV in Hairdressing is designed for individuals who have completed the Certificate III, and wish to further their career options by achieving advanced level qualifications through specialist competencies. Leadership and problem solving skills are further enhanced to include identification, analysis, and development of contemporary industry practices and trends, as well as comprehensive salon planning and supervision. This qualification not only increases knowledge, but also teaches acquisition and development of new skills that add greater scope to the practitioner¨s career opportunities in specialized venues such as film and television studios, professional photographic studios, stage and performance venues, and bridal markets.

 

 


 

 

WRH50110 Diploma in Hairdressing Salon Management
 

2 years full time or part time equivalent

Hair Stylists are currently in demand within Queensland, across Australia. This diploma represents the ultimate in Hair Design and Salon Management qualification, and is for advance hairdresser only (i.e. having completed the Certificate III in Hairdressing, or equivalent, or higher).

 

 

The diploma focuses on the technical, methodological, client service, comprehensive planning, employee coordination, and administration aspects with regard to the complexities of Hair Design and Salon Management. Students endeavoring to manage or own a salon are encouraged to complete this program.
