It focuses on advanced technical, managerial and business skills as well as the underpinning knowledge required to apply these skills in the workplace.
This course will enable you to gain a qualification in general horticulture while at the same time giving you the opportunity to undertake a range of specialist studies in different amenity horticulture industry sectors including parks and garden, landscape, turf, floriculture, arboriculture, and retail and wholesale nursery.

Description
　

The Diploma of Horticulture is a horticulture technician's course and will enable students to enter the general horticulture industry. The industry is characterised by a range of enterprises which include public open space (parks, gardens and reserves), large private gardens, schools, housing estates, hospitals or any area that is developed for public access and the retail sector.

Upon successful completion, this program will enable students to:

Manage and maintain public and private parks, gardens and reserves;
Manage and maintain natural bushland and community recreation areas;
Design and implement plant displays;
Provide advice on the selection and care of plants in commercial or domestic situation;
Manage and administer contracts; and
Provide sales advice in the retail sector.

Prerequisites
　

Good passes at Year 11 level plus relevant work experience or the overseas equivalent.

English language proficiency level of IELTS 5.5, ISLPR 2+, TOEFL 530 (Paper based), TOEFL 197 (Computer based) or equivalent.

Students should allow $300 for work boots.
